So the King’s Cross gig is almost upon us… Thursday 20th…
This really is going to be a very special night – I’ll be playing a solo set of mostly older songs from ‘The Former Me’, and then playing a trio set with pianist Jenny Carr & flautist Linze Maesterosa of predominantly new material. We’ve had some rehearsals and I am massively excited about how this is sounding… and this will then influence the new album that we’re beavering away at in the heart of old London for next year.
Support comes from one of London’s finest songwriters and one of my greatest friends Alistair McFarlane. He is the aural equivalent of honey and no mistake.
Obviously, you need to be there.
Doors 8pm, Admission £5 on door.
Alistair McFarlane 8.15 – 9pm
John Forrester solo 9.15 – 9.55pm
John Forrester trio 10.05 – 11pm.
And there’s a fantastic review of ‘The Former Me’ on the Folking.com website… “this is the first album Forrester has recorded completely solo and you sense something cathartic happening during the process”. Yes, there certainly was. Read it here.
